These kinds of Varanasi running fabrics (dress material) are made for making various kinds of garments. The motives generally come at border and they are made in various contrast colours. In India they are made as Ghaghara or lahanga (a long traditional skirts).
They are made in pure silk on silk or sometimes real or tested zari (thread made by silk, silver and gold metal) as extra weft. They are designed in traditional way of mughal designs where main motives are inspired by forest. The weave is generally satin. The techniques are used jamdani which is possible only by hand.
